Bright Blessings Brought to you by Briget )0(

Merry Meet my friends,, sorry for the tardiness of my blog for the pagan blog project,, I have had a death in the family and there have been some pretty tough days,, I thank  Goddess that because of my trust and faith, he is in a better place.

Week three,, and late, sorry, did not have the energy to do anything more strenuousness then arranging for flight tickets,, lol So her goes with some enthusiasm,, as I chose a particular Goddess that I am quite fond of .  She goes by many names as a lot of our beloved Goddess and Gods do,, and her story is one of my favorite,,
Bright which means "High One" also known as Brighad Bride, Scottish
Brid, Bright, Briget, Brigtania, English
Brigan, Brigandio, Gaul
Bri,ghid  Lady of the Green Mantle
Lady of the Shores.
It is said that when she was born at Sunrise a bright flame reached from the heavens to earth.

She is said to be the Goddess of  healers, poets, smiths, childbirth, and inspiration. It is said that she is present at every birth. Goddess of fire and hearth. Patron of warfare..

With so many legends about her there are several that I favor,, one is that there are three sisters,, which is why so many varies in names.  One sister for inspiration and poetry, who invented the Ogham alphabet, one in charge of birthing and midwifery, and the other in charge of smithies, hearth fires, and other crafts.

Imbolc the spring festival is in honor of her, for the birthing of sheep referred to as "ewe's milk" and held on February 1st.  Im actually quite excited this year will be my first in celebrating with other pagans,, :)   Candles are made, in honor of her, as well as fires due to the long winters where family's had there fires to keep warm and in some case's in days of old the only source of light.  During this time family would use a rowan rod and place it in the hearth,, if there where a sign from her in a shape of  a goose, or swan print, the family was said to have many blessings,,

I could write all day about this one,, she has so many other legends that are fascinating,, and have changed so much with the coming of Christianity.  It was said that she was present at Christ birth, as a midwife to the virgin Mary, and wad Druid's daughter that predicted the coming of Christianity.  said to be baptized by St. Patrick and then became a nun,, that tended to the flames of Kildror.  No men where ever aloud to come near the flames and even there food was brought to the sisters by women of nearby villages,,  For thousands of years the flame was kept a light intill a bishop became angered that it was a pagan custom and extinguished.  The story goes on to say that the Vatican II agreed that there was not enough sufficient "proof" of Brigit's sanctity and they decanonized her, gradually,, I had to look that work up,, it means to fire a St.. okay whatever,, lol   In 1993 the Sisters of Brigidine rekindled her flame at Kildare ,, and tradition holds that the same amount of nuns tend to being 19,, and on the 20th it is said that Bridget herself  tends to her own fires,, fascinating stuff..

I cant wait for the celebration,, as I said this will be my first with other pagans,, really looking forward to it,, hope you enjoyed,, and Blessed Be.. Lady Kane )0(

Awen is inspiration, beyond inspiring !

Okay so it's week to of the Pagan Blog Project  and Im not as nervous as the first one for sure, and actually might do more then just this project,, spread my Wiccan wings so to say.

Our letter again is A and I was wracking my brain trying to decide what to write about,, I received our news letter, and one word stuck out for me,, "I love it when that happens" it was the word Awen. So I said to myself, I dont have a clue what that is, but since that's the case,, go find out. Now for those who dont know Im rather new again, I say that because of a brief fall from my proverbial broomstick.  So anything that I've been learning is like learning all over again and in some case's better, this being one of them.

Awen first of all is not really a word you can describe, it's inspiration, it's a feeling of oneness, and the freedom to accept your own nature. Awen has many factors and lore's with it, I love lore, but traditionally comes from Druids who are Celtic history keepers, priest, judges, and or healers at times. Druids are mostly male but it's my understanding that that to is changing. (not sure about that )

Awen is considered to be the spirit  of  nature, inspiration, and creativity, but because it's three as with many of our symbols it can have many varieties of meaning for each individual some may say Mother Maiden and Crone, others Air, Fire, Water, Or Mind, Body Spirit,, but which ever you use I know that would require more research then this little witch as done, and for sure larger then what I have just posted. Because to me it's beauty, in nature, and health well being for all,, and love of what we can do, the inspiration provided us is the magic.  I found this to be one the best studies,, and something I will look into more,, Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed,, Blessed Be with love Lady Kane

Hello and welcome to first blog,, of ( a bit nervous)  following I hope the footprints of a women I truly admire, my sister bless her soul and may she always watch over me, and to the women I look to for inspiration, and lessons.  You know who ya are.. <3

Affirmations have always been so special to me,,  for so many reason,, the first being that I am a recovering alcoholic,, and I have been to place's that where very dark.. I also learned a lot, and am grateful for the dark days. For reasons of my own I was very anti "God" and even worse towards the whole thing about you can only recover if you let God help you,, see I was mad at Him,, but years earlier I was opened up to the mysteries of Wiccan,, and I remembered what was given to me then.  So when I was told a higher power could help,, I was all for it. Blessed Be my lovely Gods and Goddess's

Affirmations where the first step in my healing,, my spiritual wounds where far worse then any physical wound, and there where a lot of those also. This is my attempt at giving what I have learned so far, and what I personally know that affirmations can do for a soul, because I do them everyday, I use any source available to me to learn to reach out to others, and I do this because one positive thought, kind word, or smile can make a person's day. I also know for a fact that that is magic. If something as simple as thinking positive can lead me to recovery when nothing else did,, it is magic,, and I am grateful.

The first one I ever used,, and still do
Affirmation of life
is the spiritual act
by which man ceases
to live intellectively
and begins to devote himself
to his life with reverence
in order to raise it
to its true value.
To affirm life is to deepen,
to make more inward,
and to exalt the will to live
Albert Schweitzer

*I am feeling warm and loving toward myself
*I am worthy of all the good in my life
*I am one with the Universe, and I have more
then I need.
*I am forgiving myself unconditionally
*I am grateful for my life
*I am loving and accepting myself and others
*I am treating all problems as opportunities to
grow in wisdom and love
*I am relaxed, trusting in a higher plan the's un-
folding for me
*I am automatically and joyfully focusing on the
*I am giving myself permission to live, love and laugh
*I am creating and singing affirmations to create a
joyful, abundant, fulfilling life.
*....this or something better for the highest good of all concerned

It is my goal to learn as much as possible to, to share it when ever possible, I will use what ever resource's are available to me,, and I will give back, the love, and the light, and blessings, through tears, and smiles and laughter. Do Not stay in that dark place you Do Not have to.
Thanks for reading and Blessed Day,, Lady Kane
